After being dropped off Bonnybridge, Garry continued along the Forth and Clyde Canal towpath. It was a warm day with a little breeze. Just before walking under the M80, Garry met a lovely couple, Kate and Ian, from Falkirk Bicycle Club. They were very interested in the End to End walk and kindly donated some money to Cancer Research UK. Thank you very much.

Today was the day for chatting and Garry had a ten minute conversation with a lock keeper at Wyndford Lock. Fortunately, a barge came along so Garry was able to continue his journey!

It was an easy walk along the canal. Once Garry reached Kirkintilloch, he swapped onto the John Muir Trail heading north, alongside the Glazert Water. The John Muir Way continued into Lennoxtown.
Me and Alfie headed back to the car, it was a hot day for a whippet and he was ready for a snooze! We had parked at Auchinstarry quarry, a disused dolerite quarry, which is used for climbing and now also has a play park.
Garry walked 16.3 miles today, initially heading south west, but it feels more productive to now be heading north again.
Tomorrow, finally, we get onto the West Highland Way.
A little later this evening, we're wandering up to the village green in Drymen to listen to a Pipe band.
Earlier this week, I joined with Airdre Rock choir, led by Gordon Roberston. It was actually Gordon's last session as a leader, as he will be heading off to university to study to be a doctor. it was good to be welcomed to the goodbye celebrations, which included plenty of chocolate and cake and a sing through of lots of rock choir songs.
