Garry walked directly from the cottage this morning to head to Yatton ( a planned 6.5 miles). Leaving Banwell, Garry saw this row of cottages and then a little later on he came across a church in Puxton.
Once Garry had set off, I left to drive to find somewhere to park in Yatton (the Co-op came up trumps) and me and Alfie walked to meet him. It was all going quite well as I followed the OS map route until I came to a field of young frisky bullocks. I decided not to go into that field for Alfie (and my) safety! We turned around and found a different path to meet on. Garry and I met from opposite directions on the Strawberry line, a former railway line that used to carry its strawberry cargo through Somerset from Cheddar to Yatton.
We walked back to the Co-op parking spot and from there Garry decided to walk some of tomorrow's route. He walked an extra 4.5 miles and ended up in Chelvey. As he was walking the extra section, Alfie and I drove on and found a Garden Centre (Cleeve Nursery and garden centre) so Alfie and I called in for coffee and cake (obviously, Veg!)
We met again at the Church of St Bridget in Chelvey and headed back to the Airbnb in Banwell.
Garry walked 10.8 miles today.
Tonight is the last night at the Airbnb and we'll be using home in Cheltenham as our base in for a while. Tomorrow's walk is from Chelvey to Gordano services, so still just in Somerset.
This is brilliant 🤩 hopefully the rain will stay away tomorrow, although it would calm down any more frisky cattle!! xx
ReplyDeleteNo frisky cattle planned tomorrow hopefully!
