A shorter walk today. The three of us took the train south from Brora to Golspie, where the walk ended yesterday. We walked from the train station through the small town and crossed a lovely bridge (rather than walking through the ford) and went through some meadows next to the sea.

About a mile onwards we passed the fairy-tale-like Dunrobin Castle, an impressive sight from the shoreline.
From here, we went through a number of meadows and then walked along the beach as it was low tide. There were plenty of groups of seals to watch.
Finally, we passed an old World War II radio intercept station, which looked like it was being used for camping. We walked into Brora, passed the tiny harbour and found a cafe for a cup of coffee before heading back to the car at the train station and onto Helmsdale.
Today's walk was 6.8 miles. Alfie is having a well deserved rest now!
A longer section of the John O'Groats trail is next but we have decided on a rest day tomorrow. Weather permitting we may go to the Dornoch Highland Games.
Yesterday evening, Garry went to watch the mighty Brora Rangers play against Forres Mechanics. An enjoyable game with a final score of 5-0 to Brora.
Meanwhile, me and Alfie enjoyed a short evening stroll around the old and new harbours in Helmsdale.
